Roll-on roll-off skips or ‘Roro’s’ have a much larger capacity than regular skips, ideal for large bulky items and high volumes of waste. They are mostly used by commercial clients on industrial and construction sites, however, can be supplied to domestic clients should the need arise. Other uses include ongoing waste from manufacturing and multi-storey clear outs.
Being able to dispose of larger volumes of waste at a time means you can cut down on your overall waste management costs.
Fewer collections mean less disruption to site and in turn will reduce your carbon footprint.
The size of roro’s ranges from 17yd to 40yd containers. The three most commonly used are:
All of them can take most types of waste including general household and builders waste, wood, plasterboard, metal, cardboard and plastics. Inert waste such as soil and hardcore can only be taken in a 16yd or 20yd as the weight would be too heavy for the 40yd.
Here at Haulaway we supply all of the above sizes. For more information please call 01323 441396.
How much does a roro skip cost?
As with regular skips, the cost of a roro largely depends on the size needed and the type of waste that will be going in it.
Location can also affect the cost, for example, a roro will generally be cheaper up in the North of England compared with London and the South of England. It is a good idea to obtain a couple of quotes from different companies to get an idea of the prices in your location.
