We are a local registered charity set up to provide social activities for people with dementia and their carers to attend together. Our focus is keeping people with dementia active and socially engaged. Memory Lane is all about enjoying activity that is manageable, fulfilling and fun.

It is an opportunity for jointly sharing interests between carer and cared for (husband & wife or mother and daughter for example) with the aim of being of benefit to both parties. Many of the frustrations of day to day living can be left behind and the experience of shared moments of pleasure and laughter help to sustain those facing the relentless demands of this challenging illness.

All our activities are free to attend and we constantly fundraise in order we can keep providing these activities. At present we provide the following:

Dancing- 1st Wednesday of each month. Chester leads the sessions where we do chair exercises, line dancing, a waltz or whatever members request.

Singing - 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. Sharon a professional singer and Paul a professional musician lead these sessions.

Indoor Bowls at Hampden Park on 4th Friday of each month.

Swimming- monthly on a Sunday at 12.30pm. We hire the pool out for personal use.

Meet and Greet Coffee Group held on 3rd Saturday of each month at 10.30am. We have session like arts/crafts, quiz’s, reminiscence, dancing, flower arranging and cooking.

Allotment at Tutts Barn Lane. Sessions can be booked by ringing Carol.

Outings take place 3 times a year. We will go for a drive and cream tea or maybe a bowling outing.

In 2020 we will be starting a new inter-generation group and hope to start a dementia friendly cinema screening.
