Excellent value for money, stayed with my husband and 2 children in 2 inland rooms. The hotel is a beautiful old building which clearly is a money pit and needs loads doing but it has wonderful original features which is an interesting feature. Our room on 4th floor was spotlessly clear with new carpet and clean paintwork. Breakfast was very good selection and kept replenished all the time. Staff work so hard and couldn't do enough for you. If you wanted your room to be serviced you could but we just asked for new towels, loo rolls and coffee and was left to our own devices. Bar drinks very reasonably priced and good entertainment. Reception staff went our of there way to help out, on one occasion when needed plasters for blister. People will complain about silly little things but for the price we paid I thought we got amazing value after all.you don't live in your room . If you want perfection try the grand, it will cost you alot tho

We are still here! Arrived early and ensconced ourselves in the bar and watched the 1st day of Airshow.Checked in a little early. Front of House team are fabulous. Really helpful and kind, nothing too much trouble. We asked for extra pillows and housekeeping rocked up with 2 more, plus a fan for the room. We are in room 339 with far reaching views of The Downs. Room is huge. Plenty of plug sockets, and USB too! Tea and coffee plus a coffee machine. Bathroom is lovely. Huge walk in shower with complimentary shower gel. No hand soap but I always bring a little one. So no issues there. Location is perfect. Directly opposite pier, walking distance into town centre and station. Parking, there is a little one round back of hotel and a NCP round corner too. All in all, a fabulous 1st night's stay

The hotel enjoys the best location, in my opinion, in Eastbourne. Opposite the pier and beach and close to the town centre. Rooms are basic but perfectly ok. The hotel had a singer on but I could only endure more than one song so decided to take our drinks to the nice “indoor balcony” overlooking the beach. But others did enjoy it.

The big thing that lets this hotel down is breakfast. It was terrible, cheap ingredients, rubbish back, plastic sausage, no butter, bad coffee. I complained and was simply told head office source the supplier.

All staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

I would go back but next time room only!

Perfect location right on the seafront. I understand it is undergoing some much needed refurbishment. The staff were great, especially the young lad at breakfast, taking time to chat to everyone and taking special care of the elderly diners. Also the blonde lady running bar, nothing was too much trouble for her. The singer, Mike was fantastic, what a talent, although I felt exhausted as he belted out song after song for 2.5 hours, barely drawing breath or giving us a chance to clap. Breakfast was nice, hot fresh and plentiful, as was lunch, we didn't have an evening meal. The room was definitely tired as was the corridor and stairwell, and for some reason I always find this hotel so hot!? But it was reasonably clean, nice pillows and towels, plenty of hot water and tea and coffee making facilities (no biscuits) housekeeping were polite and helpful. For what we paid for our 2 nights stay I have no complaints at all. We love eastbourne and come all the time, when money is tight or it's a very last minute thing then we will return to The Burrington as you always know exactly what you are going to get and it's always good value

Met up for bank hol drinks with friends who were staying there. Great atmosphere and nice big public areas with high ceilings.
A guy called Andrew was singing - so good, and worked so hard on a hot night! He had a great voice, making for a fun night for our very mixed age group.
Our mates said their room was nice so we will all stay next time! A really great night.

I would never normally have gone to an old fashioned sea side hotel but my daughter was on a camp in the South Downs and given it’s her first time without me I wanted to be nearby just in case.
Okay, yes there are decorative upgrades that need doing but honestly once you see that beautiful view from the window you won’t be looking anywhere else!
I was very well looked after, the staff are phenomenal! As a disabled person away solo for the first time it was an experience I will never forget.
To all the team - Thankyou for going above and beyond to make my stay a really special memory

Great location and friendly staff. Breakfasr is basic but good and plenty of it too. Housekeeping need to go on a course. Bathroom filthy . Mould. Vent full of fluff . Shower cubicle grimy . Bedroom carpet stained . Decor old . On plus side bed comfy and good quality bedding . Broken bedroom door and no details in room of hotel . Had to ask all the time (times of meals etc)

Nice hotel. Staff excellent and very friendly. We ate breakfast every morning - plenty of choice and also ate in the restaurant every night, as menu varied and price very reasonable!
Some parts of the hotel could do with upgrading - our walk in shower was definitely due a refit, but all very clean!
Enjoyed our stay in Eastbourne and would go back.

Hello everybody, My regards to you all.
To celebrate my wife's recent birthday we decided to treat ourselves to a short (very short in fact, just four nights away) holiday in Eastbourne which is a town that we both like and it's not so far away from where we live - In fact we went there by bus using our OAP free bus passes.
We stayed at the Burlington Hotel in Eastbourne which is located on the seafront directly opposite the pier and which is about a ten minute walk away from the town centre and the shops
Check in was efficent, and the lady receptionest on duty on the Sunday evening in September when we arrived was most pleasant and helpful in assisting us to find our bearings. Our room number 129 was situated on the first floor - Unfortunately the 'Booking' website wanted another £100 for a sea view room for the short duration of our stay which was rather a lot of money for such a short time, especially off-season so we had to make do with a cheaper rear view room which had only a rather uninspiring view of the exterior fire escape stairs - Had there been a fire we would most certainly had been the first people to escape. However the room was fine for the two of us, it was quiet and quite spacious having sufficient storage space also and a good wi-fi signal and a television set were available in our room too.
In the main we were quite satisfied with our room although we did find that the lighting was on the dim side making it rather difficult for us to read which I suspect is due to energy conservation measures owing to the terrible energy prices now being charged. Regarding the en-suite bathroom, it was warm and there was constant hot water - my only grizzle was as I discovered whilst sitting in the bath tub was that the soap dispenser was located far too high up the wall for me to be able to reach any soap to wash myself unless I had extraordinarily long arms which unfortunately I and most other people don't possess.

One of the two lifts in the hotel which has in excess of 100 rooms was out of order for the duration of our stay whilst the hotel was busy at the time with coach parties, but fortunately this caused us little bother.

A self service breakfast was served daily from 7.30am until 9.30am and this was superb in every respect - there was plenty of choices - and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals (both breakfasts & evening dinner) in the lovely hotel dining room. We treated ourselves to dinner in the hotel one evening which is served until 8pm. I'm told that the dinner menu for which we paid £20 each is changed daily, and on the day we dined there it was all done in 'threes' - There was a choice of three starters, followed by three choices of a main course followed by (yes! you've guessed it) three choices of a sweet course all of which was delicious and speedily served.

My price paid for our stay was reasonable for this day and age - Four nights bed with a jolly good breakfast in a nice room at the 'Burlington Hotel' located in the pleasant seaside town of Eastbourne on the seafront opposite the pier cost me £269.64 online with 'Booking.com' for my wife and myself which breaks down to £67.41 nightly...............Thank you for having us 'Burlington Hotel.'
