We stayed at this hotel on a whim when visiting Eastbourne for the day with our dog. The weather was great so we fancied staying overnight. We'd been up on the South Downs and couldnt get enough of the fantastic views up there! The Afton is right by the Pier so a great location & near to restaurants etc. I didn't expect them to welcome our cocker spaniel but they said as long as he's well behaved it was OK. We didn't feel the need to try other hotels, this one seemed so friendly & it wasn't expensive. The hotel itself is comfortable, clean & pleasant . The breakfast was good too & set us up nicely for another day walking. We'll certainly be back!

Having used this hotel for a number of years now for the HMS Protector Association mini reunions, it just gets better! Comfortable clean rooms with all the courtesy items replaced daily. Good plentiful food served by efficient and friendly staff in the air conditioned dining room, added to this the hotel is situated in a great location for all amenities and main town centre shopping (for the ladies that do) Thanks to the management and staff for providing us with another memorable weekend we have booked for next year already.

It get,s better every year,HMS Protector Association hold their Mini reunion every September at the Afton,booked for next year making it Number 7. All 76 members and guests who attended this year wishes to thank All at the Afton for making it first class. Our senior of 92 years young, throughly enjoyed the weekend. My room shown on the main photographs was very clean,bed comfy,like the new televisions,nice shower,Very nice view,very little noise this year from the pier people(Ah we were all young once) See you all next year,Doug reunion organiser

I would like to say that 48 of us from the Ex-Servicemens Club Thetford stayed here for 2 days & 3 nights and I couldn't fault it, the food was great, the rooms were clean and tidy and very comfortable, The staff were very attentive and we didn't have to wait for anything. When we went down for our meals we were served straight away and it came out piping hot. This was our first trip to Eastbourne and I think if we went there again we would use this hotel.When we got to the hotel there was scaffolding up but that didn't detract from the great service we recieved.

Another successful weekend for the "Old Boys" and their partners. We have for several years now been lucky enough to spend two weekends each year at The Afton, which really speaks for itself. Friendly staff, good location, clean warm rooms, good entertainment Friday and Saturday,very accommodating regarding bar opening or should I say closing, which when friends get together for a "chat" is very useful. Food very adequate and even late night sandwiches ordered arrived at 10.30 were supurb, all in all excellent value. We can't thank them enough for yet another great weekend from all 19 of us.

We used the hotel's function room to host a 'Strictly come dancing' evening for our members and thier partners. It was a fun evening made even more enjoyable by the wonderful service that we received from the hotel. The Afton Hotel team made everyone feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you all for making our evening a success.

Booked with Dunwoods Coaches. Only one problem was regulating heat of shower which management helped with. Otherwise lovely and clean, good food, pleasant staff who were kind and very helpful to me. Would definitely recommend, I’m looking to book again.

Stayed for 1 night with my 15 year old daughters. Although only a 2 star hotel I thought it was perfectly fine for a night or 2. Our room was a good size family room, clean, comfortable beds and bathroom fine for what we needed. All I would say is if you want peace and quiet its probably not for you. Not hotels fault but our room was facing the busy street, even with windows shut it was noisy through the night. Who knew seagulls were up all night?! Only other issue is parking. Again not hotels fault but just giving a heads up. They give you a £1 parking permit for day, overnight till 11am, very good BUT Eastbourne is very busy in August and you have to find a space. We drove for over half an hour trying to find one, only then I managed to squeeze into a small space. Hopefully you'll have better luck!
