In September 2016, Friends of Hampden Park said about thebestof Eastbourne
The membership of the Friends of the Hampden Park voted back last year to encourage me to work towards bringing a Hot Air Balloon event into Hampden Park. Since I first contacted David to help me promote the Eastbourne Hot Air Balloon Festival he has worked tirelessly coming up with ideas, suggestions and practical help. It is now an International Festival with balloons coming from visiting countries; it will be a 2 day event on 29th and 30th July 2017 in Hampden Park. It's aim is to bring an Eastbourne event into the heart of the community, to promote local people and local businesses. We hope to ensure that all participants from entertainment to sales stands are local people and groups thus promoting the best of Eastbourne and what it can offer and keeping the proceeds in Eastbourne. When meeting with businesses to discuss supporting them with their business marketing in Eastbourne I always look for businesses with a generous nature willing to support community initiatives and events. This year Simon has really impressed me with his support for a number of local charity events and he even invited me to a Cricket event he was a sponsor for in Bexhill. In addition to being charitable Simon also makes regular quality contributions to our business marketing workshops and put forward suggestions how to make thebestof Eastbourne even better for its business members.

We've been members of the Best of Eastbourne Community Hub for a few years now and have really reaped the rewards. Members of the community find us on there who wouldn't otherwise know about our work. It's the same for both supporters and users of our service, as we have a network, but it will always have a limited reach and it is vital to be able to reach out to new markets or to be able to be found by people who need us. I'd certainly recommend the Best of Eastbourne to other community groups in the area.
