Stayed at the Burlington for the weekend and very disappointed with the breakfast, a full english to the best of my knowledge includes mushrooms (not to be charged an extra 65p per portion) and also one rash of very dry overcooked bacon, sausage of poor quality and under cooked, baked beans also poor quality. Whilst eating cereal the toast already served before cooked breakfast arrived (hence cold toast). Not very pleasant experience. Having been in the hotel trade ourselves, we know how things should be done. Room 236 is a health Hazard with all the pigeon droppings on the window sill (a disgrace) complained and was moved to another room (much better). Very Poor value for money £204 for 2 nights with what should have been a full english breakfast!! would not stay again unless there was an improvement in the rooms and kitchen. Waiter Carlos was very nice and polite as was Maria and receptionist believe her name was Carla/Patricia, could not have done anymore for us. View Image Below. Thank You.

My husband had a mild stroke while we were staying at the Burlington. A waiter realised there was a problem, got the manager who rang an ambulance and we had help in a few minutes. Amazing but it gets better. Instead of having to leave the hotel at the end our planned stay, the hotel gave me a room to stay in. While he was in hospital the staff looked after me, all of them. Wherever I was a staff member checked on me, offered comfort and drinks or food. A special table was set up for my meals and notes of support were delivered to my room. When my husband was discharged I was stunned when there was no bill to be paid. They are truly an amazing, caring group of people and I will never be able to repay their kindness.

Booked this shearing hotel on a self drive. Some confusion regarding the ability to pre book the parking but eventually sorted out and the staff were very helpful both on reception , at the bar and great staff in the restaurant.
Noted some comments re the Full English that it ought to contain mushrooms, not be charged extra 65p but to be honest the breakfast was fine and hot.
our room was a sea view and good view, we could have upgraded to a higher class room and they are doing some of the rooms up. Generally the rooms are tired and in need of a good decorate but clean and the cleaning team were very helpful.
2 Lifts, one affectionately referred to as the coffin because of its size, it says you can get 4 in but three was more than enough.
Entertainment was Bingo nearly every night and then some dancing and a guest turn or varying quality. we tended to go out and walk on the prom as the weather was great and we sat and listened to the events on in the bandstand when there was something on.
Hotel is very close to the town centre so a quick trip out after breakfast to get a paper was a 2 minute job.
Basically for what we wanted it was good,
Bar prices were probably about par for a hotel but call at the local supermarket, either ASDA or Morrisons out on the lottbridge drove road and bring your own in, they never questioned us drinking our own so cant see how they can complain.
Would go again and probably request an upgrade room.It says about £5 pppn so on a fortnight that does make a difference of 140.00 so just be aware
Car parking was £5 per day but the car is off the road and in a fairly secure place so cant complain.
Watch out for the seagulls and they did manage to steal one person's sandwich just as he was opening the packet and then they stole another persons as they just put the sandwich down on the seat, Thieving birds!!!!
The pier is opposite the hotel and apart from one night there was no rowdiness.
Breakfast finishes at 9 sharp so be there before 9 as they start to move stuff.
Dinner was a reasonable menu or think there is a la carte but we stuck to the main menu and it was OK.
Restaurant staff were good.
Good walks on the prom, about 4 miles one end to the other and hotel is about mid way so good walks either way

Having visited this hotel previously, myself and my 94 year old father paid a return visit during tennis week in June. Despite this being probably one of the busiest times of the year, the service was excellent and the experience was thoroughly enjoyable. The food is very good with a choice each night and there is entertainment provided in a fabulous spacious room. The dining room is spotless and the bedrooms very comfortable. The staff on reception are always available and most helpful. We were so impressed that we have booked another holiday during the busy summer months.

We went to this hotel with two friends on a Shearings holiday ..I will rate it as being very good ..a little bit tiered in the decor ! The rooms could have been better but the main thing they were clean ...the food was exellenent ...every night we enjoyed our food ..the little man that serves coffee after the evening meal needs to learn how to smile and be pleasant with people it doesn't cost anything and all the other staff were very pleasant .
The hotel is situated on the front at Eastbourne so very handy for a walk along the front or into town .

Burlington Hotel, Eastbourne, This is a Shearing Hotel, we travelled down from the Midlands by Shearing Coach (Swan Coach), We got to the changeover point (Motorway Services), this is an Hit/Miss system which depends on Coaches arriving at correct time BUT expect around 1 hour changeover time. The Hotel was average needs money spending on it, TV in room poor with 3 stations watchable, meals fair, bar prices expensive. Clairmont (Next door) which is owned by Daish's is much better and more reasonable. We went with Shearing as we couldn't get the dates we required with Daish's (NO changeovers with Daish's). Liked Eastbourne very much.

We travelled in our own car to this large, older hotel. It's ready for an update in decor as it is slightly dull. We had a superior room on the 4th floor with an excellent view of the sea. The beds were comfortable with super clean, crisp, white sheets. A large clean bathroom, easy to use shower and bath, plenty of hot water and lovely white thick clean towels every day. These are the important things, more important than the general decor of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent! Buffet starters, i.e. juice and cereals with a menu choice of hot full English etc. The three course evening meals were nice, nothing extraordinary, but very nice. The Sunday roast beef was lovely though, tender beef, memorable for that. The staff on reception were outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. Their responses to requests were immediate! A lady we were travelling with was feeling unwell and had her meal delivered to her room. She was very happy with that! My son had a single room, (414) it was great! Bright, spacious, lovely large bathroom, super view, perfect. Our room, (404), was a bit dark, dark walls, dark curtains, but good for sleeping of course. We slept really well even though there was some noise from the main road outside, but it was not too obtrusive at all. All round good value hotel, we were very happy with it. Great location for the beach and shops - loads of them all around the corner. Beachy Head, about 10 mins away, was gorgeous! Better than I imagined it would be. One more thing - the two lifts (elevators) were rather small; one was so tiny my husband nicknamed it 'the coffin' - this lift is not for the claustrophobics!

Arriving at the room discovered a letter on the bed which said moan now not when you get home
Bathroom had shower fittings but no shower and the room was at 90 degress so moaned at reception and eventually changed to room with shower . the hotel is well positioned, the beds are extremely comfortable, the food in the restaurant was probably the best ive experienced in a Shearings hotel although the service was not the speediest (the worst waiting 30 minutes for a cooked breakfast) the cloud wifi free in reception areas although the tv was from the ark unless you upgraded to a superior room. The hotel was in need of tender loving care but having said the break was good wetherspoons was within walking distance of the hotel
