yes the hotel needs refurbishment abd its being done, but our room was very comfortable and very very clean , nice big tv bed very comfortable, breakfast was self service but excellent , Tracey the housekeeping manager treated us like royalty , can't wait to go back plus there is car parking and you can walk to the shop's ,and its right on the sea front ,a stroll out on the pier is a must .

The weather was lovely & we walked in to ask about staying last minute for two nights.
From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed, Daisy my doggy too.
We had a large room with en-suite over looking the sea.
The hotel was having some refurbishment in progress but it didn’t hinder our stay. The young barman was friendly and helpful and the young waitress was so sweet serving us our breakfast in the bar area due to having Daisy with us.
Daisy felt like a little celebrity as many of the older residents fell in love with her and think she made there day by saying hello.
All in all a lovely stay, weather was a bonus but would not hesitate to recommend based on our experience.
Thank you

My God-daughter and I were planning a mini-break, and we read the reviews for
the Burlington, which was varied to say the least!

We rang the Burlington to ask a couple of questions, and the receptionist was
so helpful and charming that we decided that we would stay there.

We found out that the person we spoke to was Karn, and during our stay she
was so helpful, and kind, and made us feel very welcome.

We had a superior sea view, and what a view! it was a magnificent view, and
the room was very clean, the bathroom was clean, and we were very pleased
to have found such a gem in Eastbourne.

We went to sleep with the windows open, listening to the sounds of the waves
what an. amazing soundtrack to fall asleep to!!

Karn and Ivone, the reception staff were both wonderful people, and did every thing they could to make our stay memorable.

I would say ignore the negative reviews, and try the place for yourself.

This was my first time in Eastbourne, and I would return to the Burlington
as I enjoyed our visit very much.

Staff rushed off their feet so not a place to be if you are in a hurry but they are all charming and cheerful. Only one small lift so heaven help you if you are higher than first floor and unable to climb steep stairs. Superb location on the seafront and close to everything. We had a sea view room and it was a delight to just sit, especially in the evenings. The food was very good and fairly priced. We were forced to just slow down and enjoy...just what holidays are about.

This hotel is a bit of a tired grand old lady. Yes it does need a big revamp but it is a huge building and would cost a significant amount which is not going to happen in the present climate. The rooms are priced accordingly given it’s a bit tired. Location is superb and the staff are very helpful. Breakfast is good.

After reading previous reviews we were going to cancel as most were negative. So glad we didn't as we really enjoyed our stay. Yes the hotel is tired and dated, but it was clean and perfectly positioned. Our room 210 was premium room with a sea view, which was fab .Coffee machine and usual tea coffee tray with biscuits, plus toiletries provided.
We didn't eat at the hotel as lots of different restaurants to eat in the local area.
Parking is at the back of the hotel £6 pound per night- parking charges apply all along the sea front. If you want a better hotel pay more money - simple. Would stay again no bother.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and were pleasantly surprised. Very clean comfortable room, coffee, tea etc plentiful, iron, hair dryer and ample drawers and cupboards. We stayed bed and breakfast (great variety for all tastes) and also dined for the 2 nights of our stay, yet again great choice and excellent food. Bar prices very reasonable. On site parking, for a small fee, made for worry free parking. The staff were polite, attentive and helpful we will definitely return.

We visited Burlington hotel this weekend and our choir had a blessed time. We appreciated its historic nature. The rooms were diverse in sizes and standards but we settled and made use of what we had.
The staff were lovely and hospitable. The dinner was lovely and had great variety. Thank you to all the staff who attended to us.
We would have loved for the bedrooms to all have soaps, shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, teas and coffees etc.
Will we come back again? Yes, If God permit us.

We were regular users of the Burlington Hotel up until Shearings went bust, so this was our first visit under the new regime.
Let's get the minor niggles out of the way first, we stayed in room 129 that is at the back overlooking a fire escape, this was the only room that was on offer, normally we book a sea view room, the radiator didn't work, although it wasn't a cold room, there's a large damp patch under the window, & the sink in the bathroom belongs to the last century.
Now for the positives, we arrived earlier than expected, but we're able to book in & use our room straight away.
The choices of food, & its preparation was excellent, far better than the Shearings setup.
From our arrival to when we left all the staff were polite & on their game, nothing was a problem for them.
I'm a Ceoliac so I need a Gluten free menu, each daily menu clearly identified what was Gluten free & the choices were plentiful, much better than the Shearings system of a separate limited menu.
It's nice that the hotel has in the main returned to the buffet system for breakfast & dinner, apart from the actual dinner everything is for you to choose the amount that suits your own need.
I couldn't fault the Covid protection, they were forever sanitising the surfaces & tables & there were masses of self help dispensers.
All said & considered it was a pleasure to return to the Burlington, & we'll definitely be resuming our regular use.
