For those of you who visited Banstead Village in Bloom's first Open Gardens event, we are sure you will agree it was a huge success.
10 beautiful gardens were opened to the public for two afternoons last weekend. Raising money for various charities and show casing Banstead's High Street, front and back gardens and the Flower Show.
The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Rosemary Absalom visited and chatted to visitors on Saturday and enjoyed some tea and cake.
We are delighted to say that we had over 300 visitors and raised almost £2,500. Banstead Age Concern will receive the £1635 raised from ticket sales. Other charities will receive the following amounts raised by some gardens selling tea and cake, paintings, and plant sales.
Banstead Age Concern £1635
The Royal Marsden £333.70
MIND £165
Princess Alice Hospice £157
MS Research Treatment and Education £131
Tuesday Club £40
BViB £20
There will definitely be another open garden event next year and I hope that those of you who missed it this year will enjoy it next.
