Nonsuch Park, the bygone playground of at least two kings, a major campsite for soldiers awaiting D Day and the childhood inspiration of botanist David Bellamy, has a new historical significance; the mansion House located within the park has become a temporary NHS Covid vaccine centre for south east London.
Epsom & Ewell Borough Council are advising the many regular users of the park that the Nonsuch car parks and access will be busier than usual during this period.
Councillor Barry Nash, Chair of the council’s Community and Wellbeing Committee said “Epsom & Ewell is certainly playing its part in the fight against the Coronavirus and the blight on all our lives by hosting two major vaccine centres within this borough.
“Nonsuch Park is open for you to enjoy and if you are visiting this fantastic green and tranquil space for physical and/or mental exercise, to walk the dog or you just want to appreciate the natural environment, please consider arriving on foot as the car parks will be exceptionally busy”.
Visitors are reminded to follow Tier 4 rules while in the park which means that they can visit and exercise with their own household or support bubble. They can also meet outside in a public place with one other person.
Please note: The NHS is running the vaccine operation, Epsom & Ewell Borough Council has no information on the COVID-19 vaccine operation.
We love the great local businesses and community
