PRESERVE OUR PENGUINS
Saturday’s (29/06/2013) “Preserve Our Penguins” event at The Ashley Centre was a huge success, with visitors enjoying activities designed to bring awareness of the plight of these beautiful endangered creatures.
Children and adults alike were delighted to get up close to Pingu who made a number of personal appearances throughout the day. The free craft workshops and activity sheets were very popular and shoppers made generous donations into the collection boxes for the charity WWF.
Centre Manager David Beddows said: “We put on events like this because The Ashley Centre is committed to bringing awareness to the local community about topics close to their hearts such as global warming, the benefits of recycling and the dangers to nature in the wild.”
