Nine to 15 year olds can join Pull the Other's theatre professionals at the Epsom Playhouse for their five day "A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM" that introduces Shakespeare's magical story in a fun fuelled, highly energised and imaginative environment.
Act, direct, meet new friends, learn about making a play and create a work-in-progress performance for friends and family at the summer school from 12-16 August. Pull the Other guides the TheatreLab's participants in experimenting and re-imagining the story's possibilities. Through the use of drama games, activities and rehearsal techniques, each participant plays with the text from the perspectives of an actor and director and in doing so, becomes a theatre-maker.
The performance at the end of the TheatreLab course is the culmination of the ensemble's investigation into the classic text. There is no aim of a polished performance, but rather a work-in-progress performance of the ideas, themes and characters that have been explored. The summer school runs from12 - 16 August 2013 Monday - Thursday 9.30am - 1.30pm and Friday 10.30am with a Friday Performance at 5.30pm
