ART EXHIBITION RAISES FUNDS FOR THE CHILDREN’S TRUST
The 29th annual Spring Exhibition of Arts, organised by The Friends of The Children’s Trust, at Tadworth Court, Tadworth (from Friday 17th– Sunday 19th April) proved to be a great success and it is anticipated that over £3,000 will be raised.
Television newsreader and radio presenter Nicholas Owen officially opened the Exhibition on Friday evening. The many visitors who attended the three-day event were treated to a stunning display of over 500 exhibits by artists, sculptors and photographers, as well a beautiful display of glassware.
Seven local schools took part in competitions, with 40 entries featuring local landscapes being exhibited.
WalkerCrips provided the main sponsorship together with another 34 sponsors from local businesses.
Richard Palmer, Exhibition Organiser, The Friends of The Children’s Trust, said:
“I would like to thank Nicholas Owen for opening the Exhibition. My thanks also go to all the members of the Friends Committee together with the many volunteers who ensured the smooth running of the Exhibition. Finally a thank you to those whose craftsmanship was an inspiration to all who attended, the artists, sculptors and photographers who took part including artist in residence, Anthony Lawman.
