An assistant Brownie leader is setting off on a trip of a lifetime to Tanzania this summer.
Rebecca Mayall, 24, who belongs to Girlguiding UK and helps lead 5th Banstead Brownies, is travelling to help give leadership training to young girls and women.
Ms Mayall and four others are taking part in community development projects as part of the Guiding Overseas Linked with Development scheme (GOLD).
She said: "I wasn’t a Guide for long and I missed out on the opportunities available, so I’m making the most of them now.
"I have also been interested in how other guiding organisations and GOLD gives me the opportunity to explore this.
"I’m most looking forward to meeting the team and everyone in Tanzania."
Ahead of the trip Ms Mayall is raising funds by holding quiz nights and a sponsored walk.
