A SERIES of sporting and cultural events in Epsom & Ewell hope to build on the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and inspire people to take up new activities.
The 'Culture Vulture - Give it a Go Experience!' is ongoing until September 15, giving residents an opportunity to have a go at sports, walks, arts and culture activities, dance, music and various volunteering opportunities.
Councillor Jan Mason, chairman of the leisure committee at Epsom & Ewell Borough Council, said: "It offers residents a chance to experience a wide range of activities locally at various clubs, organisations and voluntary groups.
"There’s something for everyone. Sport offers several benefits, it helps keep you fit and healthy, aids in reducing stress and offers you a chance to socialise with a variety of people.
"The pride and excitement of the London 2012 Olympics have I'm sure inspired and instilled a sense of community in Epsom & Ewell.
"A significant proportion of the activities on offer are also free with some nominal charges for others.
"Culture Vulture really does offer something for everyone - young people, families and older people - it is a unique opportunity to start your own individual pathway for your legacy."
Events include lacemaking at Bourne Hall this Saturday (September 8), and the Nonsuch Awareness Day on Sunday, September 9, featuring tai chi, orienteering, apple pressing and BMX jump displays.
