CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY CHILDREN’S WORKSHOP
This Christmas come and celebrate the festive season with one of England's most loved and cherished writers, Charles Dickens, in PtO's Christmas Holiday TheatreLab 'A CHRISTMAS CAROL' workshop to stage in three days.
From Saturday 28 until Monday 30 December 10-15 year olds will work with theatre professionals, learn about making a play and create a work-in-progress performance for friends and family. Pull the Other Theatre Education guides the TheatreLab's participants in experimenting and re-imagining the story's possibilities. Through the use of drama games, activities and rehearsal techniques, each participant plays with the text from the perspectives of an actor and director and in doing so, becomes a theatre-maker.
The performance at the end of the TheatreLab course is the culmination of the ensemble's investigation into the classic text. There is no aim of a polished performance, but rather a work-in-progress performance of the ideas, themes and characters that have been explored. â¨
