The Epsom Rotary Showcase on 27 June was a great success. Featuring some extremely colourful and talented local entertainers, they raised some money for local charities and brought joy to many people and the show was also held in the presence of the Worshipful May of Epsom and Ewell and his Mayoress.
We had a great team from Epsom Rotary all doing their part and thank the staff at the Theatre who really worked hard to ensure the lighting, staging and acts performed to their best ability.
The stars of the show were:
Ben and Rhea on respectively keyboard and saxophone. Rhea had won Young Musicians.
Kasumi Brooker who expressed her wonderful soprano vocals
Ambition School of Dance - in their vibrant costumes and well rehearsed dance moves
Cam Brown vocalist and guitarist with his rendition of Jake Thackery and other musicians
Bharathakalalayam South Indian Dance Troupe - with beautiful costumes and colourful dance
Leatherhead Link - who sang a medley of songs and touch the hearts of everyone
Protegem - another well choregraphed dance performance
Girlguiding Epsom - with songs around the camp fire
Epsom Silver Band Quartet.
The audience all expressed they so enjoyed the show and hope Epsom Rotary run a similar show again next year. We also thank our sponsors, Honey& Bamboo (a zero waste shop in Ewell Village) Park View Cafe at Alexandra Park Epsom, Rotary South D1145 and one other kind person.
Epsom Rotary play an active role in the local community supporting young people through competitions such as Young Musicians. In addition they support humanitarian aid, more recently the cyclone disaster in Malawi. Opportunities also include the Allotment Project jointly with Ewell Rotary where food is grown and provided to Epsom Pantry in South Street and veterans activities jointly with Epsom RBL.
