I had a lovely afternoon in Walton-on-the-hill at the Breech Lane Community Centre as they choose the 2015 Walton May Pageant Queen and her attendants.
Lots of excited little face – all smiling – except for one lovely little girl who found it all too much – but as I left she was beaming away.
Attendants were chosen from different age groups – together with the Spirit of May, Jack of the Green, the Sweep and of course the May Queen herself.
This year the honour goes to Chloe – and the current May Queen Yzanne, was there to wish her well.
There was also a display of some of the entries for the brochure cover – this years theme is the Natural World. (love the rabbits!!).
The pageant is on Saturday 17th May and with the theme of The Natural World – expect to see lots of Earth – Wind – Fire and Water and of course the four seasons.
The Walton-on-the-Hill May Pageant is one of the largest in the area and is always a very popular event. BUT they do rely on your support.
If you are a local business – consider advertising in their brochure – which has over 4000 copies circulated.
Perhaps you would like to show your business to the community – consider having a stall at the event.
Are you a local charity or community group who want to let the community know what you do – you can have a stall as well.

If you are going to the pageant – consider being a Steward. This takes only about 1 hour of your time – and you will not miss anything. The role of the steward is to help the procession along its way. So you simply need to be there before the procession starts and you will be advised of the role – and then you help escort the procession along the route.

We look forward to seeing you on the big day.
We love the great local businesses and community
