An enthusiastic crowd turned up to The Ashley Centre Epsom’s Christmas lights switch on event on Saturday 23 November and they weren’t disappointed!
They were entertained throughout the afternoon by stilt walkers, balloon modellers, face painters and roving entertainers who ensured everyone was well and truly in the festive mood by the time the lights were turned on by Father Christmas, Ashley Bear and the cast of the Epsom Playhouse pantomime Peter Pan at 5pm. Visitors admired the brand new decorations throughout the Centre and were given a sneak preview of some of the pantomime.
After the lights went on many people stayed to meet the panto cast and Father Christmas who all posed for photos and gave out free Christmas treats.
Now The Ashley Centre is well and truly gearing up for lots more festive entertainment in the run up to Christmas. Many local choirs will be performing throughout December and from 14 to 24 December visitors can have their gifts beautifully wrapped in a choice of paper and decorations for a small donation to local charity the Sunnybank Trust. If anyone can help by donating wrapping paper or helping with the wrapping please contact the Charity on 01372 732374.
