September 1955 saw the opening of the school on Shawley Way, and to celebrate this anniversary the school wish to make their Summer Fete extra special.
The Summer Fete is to be held on Sat 27th June and will be opened by the Mayor of Reigate and Banstead.
AND the school would love to contact and of the original pupils from 1955 – so they can be part of the opening ceremony and afterwards, to have a guided tour around the school followed by refreshments in the grounds, weather permitting!!!
To celebrate further, this week, March 16th, the school are also starting the process of planting 60 trees in the grounds, one for each year Shawley has been open. These trees have been kindly donated to the school by the Woodland Trust, and they are inviting parents and the Banstead Horticultural Society along, to help them plant them.
Anyone wishing to make contact with the school regarding the above, please contact Mr Steve Ellis, Chair of Shawley Fundraisers, on: 01737 350344.
