Do not be tempted to give them a present early. You give them one – they’ll want another.
So how do you keep them busy and not break the bank?
Mother Nature is on hand to help.
Leaf Printing and Collage
On a dry day enjoy collecting as many different sizes and shapes of leaves. Once inside you can Turn the leaves upside down to reveal the bumpy underside.
Cover this side of the leaf with paint. Then place the bumpy side onto paper to create a pretty picture. Or place the leaf under a piece of thin paper again bumpy side up and rub over with the side of a wax crayon to create pretty leaf rubbings.
Another alternative is to collect fallen leaves in a selection of different shapes and sizes along with these collect small sticks, acorns, birds feathers and other small things. Then allow your child to be as creative as they can gluing their finds onto paper using a non-toxic PVA glue.
Great idea – and cheap..
