The Epsom and Ewell Hub was officially opened earlier today by local MP Chris Grayling and the Mayor, Councillor Peter O’Donovan.
The Hub aims to support the hundreds of young residents claiming Universal Credit in the area, providing access to a wide range of support, from skills development to securing employment.
Epsom & Ewell Borough Council leads on the project, in partnership with Surrey Lifelong Learning Partnership with funding from the Department of Work and Pensions through its Flexible Support Fund.
A steering group of partners, including NESCOT, Go Epsom and Coast to Capital LEP has helped develop the offer available to young people and employers.
As well as helping young people overcome barriers to employment, the dedicated hub team will engage with local employers offering work placements, apprenticeships and potential employment vacancies to match people with opportunities.
The Hub is open Monday to Friday and is based in the Ashley Centre in Epsom town centre.
Mayor of Epsom & Ewell, Councillor Peter O’Donovan, said “The Epsom and Ewell Hub brings services close to those that need them, breaking down any potential barriers to work and providing participants with all the support they need for employment success.
“The Hub is open to everybody on Universal Credit, aged 18-24 regardless of their background and experience and is completely free of charge.
“Our young people are our future and the friendly team at the new The Epsom and Ewell Hub aim to ensure that no young person is left behind”
