When you do your shopping this week please keep in mind the Foodbank – helping people in times of crisis
The Foodbank provides local people with necessities, not luxuries. It allows people to collect the basic necessities they need to live.
April 2019: we fed 386 people. April 2020: we fed 1,035
As always I hope that you and your loved ones continue to be well and healthy.
We continue to be very busy feeding in excess of 50 people most days. The record of 27 for the number of deliveries made in a day has become the new norm. Fortunately donations continue to be made and our food supplies are good. Tesco make regular deliveries of some basic foods such as pasta sauce, UHT milk, cereal, soup, tinned corn, pot noodles and so on. In addition other businesses and local people are donating on a regular basis.
Having said all of that we do still have items that we urgently need -
Long life sponge puddings
Ketchup
Tinned meat
Hand gel sanitizer
Men’s deodorant
Adult toothbrushes
Adult toothpaste
Shaving foam
Children’s toothpaste and toothbrushes 0 to 2 years
Children’s toothpaste and toothbrushes 6 to 8 years
Shampoo - unisex or for men
And items that we are running low on -
Shower gel
Powdered milk
Tinned vegetables - not sweetcorn
Sugar 500g
Custard
Jam/honey/marmalade/peanut butter
The majority of supermarkets still have collection bins which we empty on a regular basis. Alternatively food can be dropped off at our warehouse in Ruxley,Lane Ewell. We are open Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm. Please note that we will not be open on Friday 8th May which is a Bank Holiday.
