When you do your shopping this week please keep in mind the Foodbank  helping people in times of crisis

The Foodbank provides local people with necessities, not luxuries. It allows people to collect the necessities they need to live.

The Harvest Festival Donations are continuing to come in and we have been overwhelmed at the generosity of our local community. So much so that we have very good stocks of most items. There is a list below of the items we have least of, but as I say nothing is in desperately short supply.

We will shortly be launching our Christmas Appeal which will include Christmas Food boxes. The boxes will be assembled at the warehouse so that we can ensure that our clients get a box suitable for any special dietary requirements or allergies. In addition to Christmas goodies we also hope to include a meat voucher, an energy top up,

As previously mentioned we do have a very good stock of many of the basic items - baked beans, soup, tinned tomatoes etc - which we are paying to store offsite, so please donate only the items on the following list -

  • Tinned Vegetables
  • Tinned Sweetcorn
  • Biscuit
  • Tinned rice pudding
  • Adult toothbrushes - singles or twos
  • Adult toothpaste
  • UHT milk - semi skimmed or full fat
  • Toilet rolls
  • Nappies size 6 plus
  • Pull ups all sizes
  • Long life fruit juice
  • Long life sponge puddings
  • Savoury snacks - crisps etc
  • Savoury snacks for children

Items for our Christmas Boxes -

Mince pies - no alcohol and please watch the use by dates

Christmas puddings - small and medium - no alcohol

In addition we hope to distribute new towels, face cloths, tea towels and socks and would appreciate monetary donations towards the meat vouchers and energy top ups.

I hope that you feel able to continue your support as we move ever nearer to the festive season.

The majority of supermarkets still have collection bins which we empty on a regular basis. PLEASE NOTE THAT ONLY FOOD PURCHASED IN THE SUPERMARKET SHOULD BE PUT IN THE COLLECTION BINS. Alternatively food can be dropped off at our warehouse in Ruxley,Lane Ewell. We are open Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm for dropping donations , except Thursday when last time for donations is 2pm. Please note that we do not open on Bank Holidays.

Due to current school start and finish times please avoid 8.30am to 9am and 2.45pm to 3.15pm. It may be busy outside those times so as always please drive carefully

Many thanks for your continued help and support.

Please note that the office is not open every day and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
