EWELL BROWNIES HELP FOODBANK
This year is the Brownie centenary and as part of the celebrations 1st Ewell Village (St Mary's) Brownies collected food to donate to the Epsom & Ewell Foodbank.
Foodbank manager Jonathan Lees showed Brownies Connie, Abigail, Samantha and Lucy round the Foodbank offices based at Generation Church in Ewell and explained more about the charity. The Trussell Trust foodbank network works in partnership with local churches and organisations to bring foodbanks to communities across the UK. There are now over 423 foodbanks in the network.
Brown Owl Jill Popham said: "We have been learning about the charity and the vital service it offers for the community part of the badge we are working on to celebrate our centenary . Jonathan was kind enough to invite the Brownies to visit the centre and see for themselves the immense number and variety of donations and how they are sorted."
We love the great local businesses and community
