A RAFT of parking restrictions in Epsom including residents-only permits is in the pipeline.
Permit-only zones across the town centre, tougher measures to control front-garden parking and a clampdown on parking on pavements and grass verges are planned.
Epsom and Ewell Borough Council's Environment Committee agreed to the measures when it adopted its Parking Strategy at a meeting on Wednesday night (June 20).
The parking plans, including the exact areas where Residents Permit Schemes (RPS) will be introduced, are yet to be decided. But potential sites identified for RPS include roads near the borough's railway stations, streets close to Epsom Hospital, and areas around schools.
Town centre roads where most parking conflict between residents and commuters, shoppers and visitors occurred could also have permit only schemes introduced.
Problem parking areas identified by the council include Victoria Place, Middle Lane, Portland Place, Clayton Road and Providence Place.
