Nonsuch Park has once again secured a Silver Gilt Award for the third year running, at this year's prestigious South and South East in Bloom Awards, in the Heritage Garden/Estate of the Year category.
For this year's Awards, Nonsuch Park achieved its highest score yet, with 154 marks out of a possible 169 and was the only ‘free to enter’ facility in the heritage category. Participants in the Award scheme are asked to focus on three main areas:
Councillor Barry Nash, Chair of Epsom & Ewell Borough Council's Community and Wellbeing Committee said, "The Award is a testament to the untiring work and dedication of our three main volunteer groups – The Friends of Nonsuch, The Nonsuch Voles and Nonsuch Watch, and the efforts of our parks team in maintaining and preserving the natural and physical history of the park.
"The park achieved impressive scores in every area of the judging criteria. Congratulations and well done to all involved."
The South & South East in Bloom campaign is the largest horticultural campaign in the region involving 100’s of communities each year. Participating communities create lasting improvements to their local environment for the benefit of those that live, work and visit.
The South and South East in Bloom regional campaign encourages county, district, city, borough, town & parish councils, communities, residents and businesses to get involved and work together to improve the environment locally.
