A Surrey charity which supports victims of domestic abuse is encouraging people to seek help during an awareness week.
Your Sanctuary, based in Woking, said anyone experiencing domestic abuse should contact local services for support, information and advice.
Surrey Domestic Awareness Week, which starts on Monday, includes events for victims, family members and friends.
Drop-in information days are being held at libraries in Woking, Staines, Redhill, Epsom and Walton.
"It is a sad fact that domestic abuse continues to affect people in Surrey but not everyone is aware of the advice, help and support available," said Beverley Pass, chief executive of Your Sanctuary, formerly Surrey Women's Aid.
Surrey County Councillor Kay Hammond said initiatives such as awareness week were important because domestic abuse could leave victims feeling isolated.
"By talking about this issue we can raise awareness of the support available and work together to encourage victims to speak out and break the cycle of abuse," she said.
