Join Nicholas Owen in charity twilight walk
Popular television newsreader and radio presenter, Nicholas Owen is extending an invitation to join a special twilight walk, in aid of The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury. He will also be joined by actress Amanda Burton, who will be taking part in the walk. Both are ambassadors for The Children’s Trust.
Tickets are now available for Twilight Walk - an early evening walk under the stars. The annual event will be taking place on Saturday 18 October 2014. The 13 mile walk is open to adults (participants must be 18 and over), whilst families with children can choose a more leisurely walk of 5k. Both walks around the local area of Tadworth, Walton-on-the-Hill and Epsom Downs begin and finish at The Children’s Trust, Tadworth.
Registration and entertainment, which includes music, hog roast and hot toddies start from 3.30 pm, with a Zumba warm-up before the two walks commence.
Adult entry is £15 in advance for the 13 mile walk, £10 in advance for the 5k walk, and £5 for children under 12 for the 5k walk. Twilight Walk t-shirts will be provided on arrival. The suggested minimum sponsorship is £50 and all proceeds will benefit The Children’s Trust.
Nicholas Owen, who has supported the event over many years, said: “Twilight Walk is a great opportunity for people to get together to show their support for a very special charity and also enjoy an early evening walk with family, friends or work colleagues. Please join Amanda and I to make this a memorable event.”
