Carers of Epsom has been supporting Carers in the local community for more than 25 years. They are an independent organisation offering free active support to unpaid carers in Banstead, Epsom and Ewell.
When they talk about “Carers” they mean those who look after family, partners or friends in need of help because they are ill, frail or have a disability. The care they provide is unpaid.
If you are looking after someone with an illness or disability, you may need to help them move around. It’s essential that you know about safe moving and handling so you don’t hurt yourself or them. The Mid Surrey Moving & Handling service is a free service for Carers, advising and demonstrating how to safely move and help the person you care for. The service can also advise about suitable equipment and has a small stock of items which can be borrowed whilst Carers are awaiting the supply of permanent items.
