Momentum is a charity that supports the entire family during times of unimaginable strain. Being told your child has cancer or another life-limiting condition is devastating and can isolate the entire family, as well as the child themselves; this is where Momentum steps in.
Momentum understand that every family is different, so they offer an individually-tailored family support programme, providing emotional support, respite holidays, trips and treats to help during the stress of treatment.
Momentum works hand in hand with local hospitals such as Kingston Hospital, St. Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey, Epsom Hospital, The Royal Marsden Hospital in Surrey and St. George’s Hospital in Tooting.
Their main aim is to improve the facilities and healing environment for children during hospital stays.
At any one time, Momentum supports over 250 families. Sadly the number of children who are diagnosed with cancer or life-limiting conditioning is increasing.
Momentum also supports families who have suffered a bereavement.
