Ben, 36 from Sutton had been at the New Malden centre for a month - on secondment from the parent hospital The Harley Street Clinic – when he got his colleagues and event Chief Executive, Neil Buckley to scale the 90ft grandstand and set the team a £1,000 target.
Ben must have good persuasion skills in relation to fundraising as the team reached and then exceeded their target, with offline fundraising they have raised £1,788.
Ben said: “The centre works hard to be part of our wider community, and supports causes that we know are important to our staff and patients. Princess Alice Hospice has a large catchment area that covers the communities where a significant number of staff members live. The abseil was just the start of a series of fundraising activities for the charity’. It was great fun and I know that everyone enjoyed it, me more than most”.
