Members of the Evesham Vale Lions Club are promoting a message in a bottle scheme, designed to help save lives.
The simple idea, already in operation in other areas, encourages people, particularly the elderly and infirm, to keep personal and medical details in a common place that can easily be accessed in an emergency.
James Jarvis, of Evesham Vale Lions, said "The information is kept in a plastic bottle which is placed in the fridge where the emergency services will easily find it. A warning label is placed on the fridge door and also on the inside of the front door."
Mr Jarvis said there was no cost to the individual as all expenses were paid by Evesham Vale Lions Club. He said bottles and forms were available at Evesham area health centres, doctor's surgeries and chemists. Details were filled in by the individual or their carer and placed in the bottle and put in the fridge.
All the emergency services, Mr Jarvis said, were being made aware of the sceme. Further information can be obtained on 01386 47494.
