The Charity has launched its own ‘Bake off for take off’ campaign encouraging supporters to get into the kitchen, break out the flour, eggs, icing sugar and piping bags and get baking for a good cause. Caroline Creer, Fundraising Director at DAA said: “We always want fundraising efforts to be fun and what better way to enjoy yourself while making money than trying your hand at baking.  The huge success of TV’s ‘The Great British Bake Off’ has attracted audiences in excess of 15 million and even if a small percentage of them live in Devon and support DAA we could have an exceptional week. “We’re asking all keen bakers as well as those that have never baked before to have a go. Ideas include having a cake stall at your workplace and selling them to staff and customers.  Schools and colleges can hold a cake sale and villages can hold bake off competitions and sell the cakes at their weekend markets.” Budding Mary Berrys are being encouraged to post photographs of their cakes on social media and specifically on ‘Devon Air Ambulance’ Facebook page via Twitter to @DevonAirAmb both using #bakeofffortakeoff hashtag. National Air Ambulance Week is an initiative created by the Air Ambulance Association to celebrate the work of local air ambulances giving them a national voice and an opportunity to promote the work they do at a local level. It takes place from Monday 19 to Sunday 25 September.
