The UK travel retailers, who cast 1000 votes for 42 categories, gave Exeter Airport top marks in the UK domestic airport category.
Exeter Airport managing director Matt Roach said: “I’d like to thank all those in the industry who voted for us and our staff for the major role they have played in Exeter Airport receiving this accolade. The award follows substantial investment in the airport by our owners, the Rigby Group. In the past 12 months we have opened a greatly enhanced security search area and a new executive lounge which have both been very well received by passengers.”
The awards which cover a broad span of travel trade categories including to cruise lines, top tour operators, hotel and resort groups, leading destinations, airlines and airports, are organised by the travel trade publication Selling Travel and its partner, the online training provider Travel Uni.
At the special awards ceremony on board the Sunborn Yacht at World Travel Market, ExCel, Selling Travel Publisher, Steve Thompson, said: “Many congratulations to all those who have been successful in these awards. Ours is an extremely competitive industry and to be acknowledged as a star performer by the retail trade is a great accolade. Our winners clearly go that extra mile for the trade and we are delighted to give them the recognition they deserve.”
