Devon’s multi-award-winning holiday park, Cofton Holidays near Dawlish, is readying itself for the arrival of several very special guests on Wednesday 20th December when Father Christmas, his happy elf helpers, snow dogs and two of his most radiant reindeer come to Cofton to celebrate the season.
Bringing the spirit of Christmas to Cofton, the ticketed Storytime event, which costs just £8 per child, will see Father Christmas sweep into Cofton on a sleigh drawn by Comet and Cupid, accompanied by his team of husky snow dogs.
Arriving at 11.00 am and again at 1.00pm, everyone - including those without tickets - will have the opportunity to see the big man, huskies and reindeer, before enjoying the delights of the Cofton Christmas Market and the Elf Workshop in The Swan Inn, where all children can craft their very own Christmas gifts from £2.50 a craft.
From 11.30am, and again in the afternoon at 1.30pm, children with tickets can look forward to story time with Father Christmas and one of his elves. Featuring magic and entertainment, this very special event will be held at the Warren Retreat, where Father Christmas’s elves will be on hand to greet the children, give them their gifts and treat them to seasonal refreshments. 20% of all money raised from the event will go to Exeter Leukaemia Fund, a very deserving ELF indeed.
Meanwhile, Comet and Cupid will have their own petting area, so children can get up close to these majestic animals, capturing the spirit of Christmas in the run up to the big day. Tickets are limited for both the morning and afternoon Storytime events and each child gets to bring one adult free; additional adults cost £4 per head.
Festive food and drink will be available to all in the Award Wining Amelia’s Pantry, at the Elf Workshop, held in the Swan Inn, and from the Market Stalls, where you can enjoy treats including mulled wine, mince pies, hot chocolate and much more. Visitors can take advantage of the Christmas Market outside the Swan Inn, where there’ll be a host of local traders selling gifts for loved ones. There’ll even be a Christmas Gin Bar and Christmas Carols for all to sing along to after each show.
Commenting on Father Christmas’s visit, Helen Scott, Director at Cofton Country Holidays, said: “Christmas is the season for giving, which is why we’re donating money raised from Father Christmas’s visit on 20th December to Exeter Leukaemia Fund.
“We’re looking forward to a wonderful morning and afternoon of celebrations, providing fun for all the family while raising money for a charity that is close to our heart. There’ll be a great selection of stalls, which we’re adding to on a daily basis, and we’re encouraging local food, arts and crafts businesses to contact us if they’d like to add their seasonal stall to the Cofton Christmas Market.
“Whether you’re visiting to soak up the seasonal atmosphere, taking a dip in the heated indoor pool or enjoying time in the soft play area, we’re sure that joining the fun and festivities at Cofton will be a wonderful way to get into the true spirit of Christmas.”
Businesses interested in booking a stall at the Cofton’s Christmas market can do so for just £20. For more information on Cofton Holidays visit:www.coftonholidays.co.uk or call 01626 890111.
