At Southernhay House Hotel, we are raising a friendly glass of bubbles to two of our staff who have just won national awards for their talent.
At the end of May, Nick Clifford, the Hotel Apprentice, came third in the Young Seafood Chef of the Year Competition with his recipe of mi-cuit salmon, pickled beetroot and citrus. Nick studied at Exeter College.
Last week cocktail guru Dan Tripp (also originally from Exeter College) came second in the Grand Marnier Sunset Competition with his “grand verger”, a right little sparkler of Grand Marnier, peach liqueur & apple juice topped with champagne.
Both winning entries are now featured at Southernhay House Hotel.
