The senior management team at Stagecoach South West has been bolstered with the appointment of a new commercial director.
Karen Hodder previously worked at Wiltshire Council as their head of marketing, business management and events.
She replaces Robert Williams, who left at the end of last year to take on the role of CEO at Reading Buses.
Karen has worked extensively at a senior level in the private and public sector leading change and supporting new phases of business development.
Welcoming her to the team, Stagecoach South West Managing Director, Bob Dennison, said: “Karen has a wealth of knowledge across a number of sectors and we are delighted that she has chosen to join us here in Devon.”
Having started her career at British Gas, Karen has worked across multiple disciplines including sales, customer service and product management at a national level.
Her career then progressed into advertising joining Yell as a Regional Marketing Manager developing and deploying strategies including new initiatives that supported the uptake of digital products.
Karen said she was looking forward to immersing herself in her new role.
“I’m excited about the challenge and the opportunity to work for such a dynamic and exciting business,” she explained.
“The team here in Devon have made me feel very welcome and I look forward to playing my part in what already is a local success story.”
Karen, who is originally from Scotland, holds a BA in Business Studies and a CIM Diploma in Marketing.
