Happened on Saturday 3rd October –
Richard Frayne, Will Rose, Kunal Dave, Kyle Costa, Simon Piper, Will Willden, Kenneth Papenfus and Chay Lawrence (The Safety Boat captain: Mike and first hand: Steve). Both Richard Frayne and Will Rose rowed the whole way, with 6 Rowers, 1 Cox and 1 Substitute Rower.
They set off at 4am from Ramsgate and got to the Belgium coastline at 6pm.
They were not supposed to land, but the Safety Boat was nowhere to be seen so they landed the boat for photos on the beach after 14 hours of rowing, then the Belgium Coastguard got in touch with safety boat to pick them up straight away as it is illegal to land anywhere except Ports and Airports with passports.
Well done lads – A good job done and lots of money raised for Devon Air Ambulance.
