It was, of course, essential that the marketing of WestCountry Appointments reflected both the rewarding work/life balance that the West Country can offer and the recognition that the West Country is a thriving corporate community with excellent career opportunities at its core. The marketing team at WestCountry Personnel saw this as a challenge that should be addressed not only through words but with strong images and as such recruited one of the regions most renowned and respected photographers, Mike Alsford, whose projects include many local film and TV productions, and recently worked as stills photographer for Poldark and produced a moving calendar for the Royal Marines. The focus of Mike’s project with WestCountry Appointments was to capture cutting edge professional people in an environment that would inspire and attract talented individuals to the region whilst acting as a reminder to all concerned, that you don’t have to move away from the West Country to have a successful and rewarding career. From Dartmoor to Dawlish Sands and many areas in-between, identifying locations with the wonderful scenery the West Country can offer was the easy part; however, it was equally important that this collection of images did not come across as a tourism brochure - Mike embraced this challenge with enthusiasm and a level of creativity and professionalism that resulted in some of the most exciting recruitment images to be found in recruitment marketing.
