Okay – I admit to a strange title for a blog writer!
But, whilst recently discussing the power of blogging with like-minded individuals I was reminded of the need to keep a focus with both what you write and why …
As a start point and certainly at the forefront of my thinking there are three important questions that should be asked:
Why am I writing this post?
What do I want my readers to do as a result of reading the post … and have I made it clear to them?
How will I know my post has been successful?
Let’s take this post as an example:
I am writing this to create a thought about whether you need to write blogs …
And, if you do … then I’d like to inspire you to think about whether your posts tell your readers your “why story”
I also want you (as my reader) to reflect, assess and either confirm for yourself that you’re doing this OR to resolve to re-look at how you’re creating your posts. I have provided some questions below to help you do this ….
I’ll know my post has been successful when enough of my readers comment in a way that shows they have thought about these questions seriously.
