During Make a Will Fortnight (10th - 22nd September) local solicitor firms across Phyllis Tuckwell’s catchment area have agreed to waive their normal Will writing fee for a professional consultation and a new or updated will, in return for a suggested donation.
When writing your Will, of course your loved ones will come first. Once everyone else has been provided for, Phyllis Tuckwell hopes that you might also consider leaving a legacy donation. Apart from helping the charity to continue providing care to people facing a serious progressive illness, such as cancer, legacies are also a very tax-efficient way of giving, as they are exempt from Inheritance Tax.
All of the care which Phyllis Tuckwell provides is given free of charge, yet the NHS/Government only covers a small amount of the charity’s costs, which means it has to raise £20,000 a day to be able to provide all of its services.
