The very finest Dixieland, New Orleans and Swing.
This month we welcome three front line musicians from Pete Rudeforth’s Goodtime Jazzband - Pete Rudeforth (Trumpet & Vocals), Duncan Hemstock (Clarinet, Tenor Sax & Vocals) and Andy Flaxman (Trombone) to join our Trio.
1950's Britain had a Trad Jazz and Dixieland boom, dominated by its stars - Chris Barber, Acker Bilk and Kenny Ball - all of whom were highly respected on the international jazz scene.
Pete Rudeforth has played with all three of those bands! He was a member of Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen for twelve years, including Kenny's last ever performance in Chemnitz in 2013. He played with Acker Bilk and his Paramount Jazz Band and, in 2008, Pete took over the trumpet chair with the Chris Barber Band and went on to play over a thousand concerts all over Europe.
Duncan Hemstock - is an exceptionally talented reeds player from Adelaide, Australia, who brings his joy for life and music to every performance, always delivering with a smile and a cheeky quip or two!
Andy Flaxman - Since leaving as Principal Trombonist of the Band of HM Coldstream Guards, Andy has worked extensively with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, The Glenn Miller Orchestra and the Len Phillips Big Band. He is now the lead trombonist in Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra
