Residents in Hart and Rushmoor who are looking to get on the housing ladder are invited to attend an affordable home ownership event in Farnborough, Tuesday 14 March.
Hart District Council has worked in partnership with Rushmoor Borough Council and Help to Buy, the government's home ownership agent, to provide this event. Held at the Rushmoor Borough Council offices, the event will allow residents to talk to experts such as specialist staff from the councils' housing teams, Help to Buy South and representatives from social housing providers.
In response to public demand the event will start and end an hour later to give people more time to call in after work. It is now running between 3pm and 8pm.
Independent financial experts will also be available to give advice on mortgages, monthly payments and deposit costs. This will give residents the opportunity to discover the range of low cost homes available in their area and find out more about how to afford a property of their own.
Cllr Stephen Gorys, Cabinet Member for Housing at Hart District Council said: "It's great that Hart and Rushmoor are working together to provide this event for a third time. Having been a success in the past years, this event will promote the housing options we work hard to provide for our residents."
With it becoming increasingly harder for residents to get on the housing ladder, both Hart and Rushmoor feel it is important to give residents the opportunity to see the options available to them.
Cllr Barbara Hurst, Cabinet Member for Health and Housing at Rushmoor Borough Council, said: “Both the previous events we have organised have proved very popular, so there is clearly big demand for an event like this where we can get everyone under one roof. This is an ideal opportunity for people to find out about the affordable homes available to buy in Aldershot, Farnborough, Fleet, Hook and the surrounding areas.”
