Following a very positive year the organising committee have been able to support many local youth orientated projects. £7,440 was donated and distributed by HYPE grants and financial support which has included the ever increasingly popular Views summer projects for young people, supporting young people with training and travel costs for work experience. HYPE has continued to support the under 12s Youth club at the Point called HYPElet. A new acquisition is a Minibus which has been procured for the use of the Hart public, primarily for youth based projects, for more information, log your interest on the Hypefleet website.
Whilst costs of running the monthly event continue to rise the voluntary management team said, "contingencies are in place to keep the project running" but the team do need over 500 attending each event. The team have booked regular events going to July 2019 and will be listed on the new look web site very soon. Tickets however will remain at £7 and available in advance from the Short & Sweet Cafe at Harpton Parade, Yateley and also Serendipity in Fleet Road, Fleet opposite the Gurkha square car park, thanks to the proprietors for their support.
Since inception of this very popular event for young people from 11~16 years of age; there have been over 40,000 attendees. They have been ably supported by more than 200 volunteers who have given more than 14,000 hours and supported by Special Constables, youth professionals and St John first aiders, ensuring a safe and fun event for the young people of the Hart area.
HYPE has also enabled some great young people to achieve their community service element of their Duke of Edinburgh awards, whilst a number received Lions Young leaders in service awards as recognition for their hard work. Many of these young volunteers have exceeded expectations and will soon be heading to their chosen University's. HYPE organisers welcome new adult volunteers to ensure events can be run smoothly.
