Ron Burns, Director at Farnborough based James Griffin Sales & Lettings completed a 4 day Trek across some of Iceland’s most picturesque and challenging landscapes raising money for the Brain Tumour Charity, also based in Farnborough.
Ron has been tending to his sore limbs but delighted to report that as a group the ‘Trekkers’ managed to raise an incredible total of over £60,000 for the Brain Tumour Charity and James and Ron collectively have raised over £4,800 plus gift aid contributions. This money will have a huge impact to the support of sufferers, as well ongoing research, essential for what we all hope for - a permanent cure for brain cancer!
“Despite training for this event, nothing quite prepared me for the physical nature of this challenge walking across this amazing volcanic landscape, trekking uphill, through streams and camping overnight. However, the group spirit was amazing and included fellow director, James Griffin as well as brain tumour sufferers, survivors, and many who had lost wives, husbands, fathers, mothers, sons and daughters to this terrible cancer.” said Ron Burns.
