Hart District Council has launched their refreshed Housing Options consultation for the Local Plan to ensure a "fair and thorough process".

Hart District Council is inviting views on what approach the Council should take in delivering new homes up to 2032.

The Council has published 3 documents which provide background detail on:

  • Options with more detail on what type of housing may be required and what approaches are available to the Council for their delivery
  • The Sites booklet which provides more detail on which particular sites may help meet needs into the future
  • Vision and priorities which sets out the objectives in building into the future

The principles and questions of the new consultation remain substantially the same as the previous consultation, allowing previous respondents the opportunity to confirm if their response is still valid following the changes to the material.

Cllr Parker continued to say: “I would like to reassure the public that if you have already submitted your response and you gave us your contact details, and have read the changes to the new consultation material, you will not need to complete a new submission. We have a process in place to assist respondents to read the changes and confirm their original local plan response online.”

The earlier consultation which started in November was stopped in January because it became apparent, following feedback from local residents, that not all the settlements that were anticipated to be included within one of the key questions had been correctly captured.

You can find out more on the Hart District Council website here.

The consultation is open now until 18 March 2016.
