Hart District Council has given the go ahead for a new £23m Leisure Centre in Fleet which will include:
The new Leisure Centre will be built in Hitches Lane, across the road from the current site. The site will be on the edge of a new country park and the building has been designed to blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings.
Everyone Active will manage the current leisure centres in Frogmore and Hart, as well as the new leisure centre when it opens.
The new Leisure Centre will be constructed by Willmott Dixon.
Councillor Ken Crookes, Portfolio Holder for Finance and Economic Development at Hart District Council, said: “I am pleased that Council has agreed to go ahead and build the new leisure centre. I look forward to working with our new partners in delivering this outstanding new facility for the people of Hart."
The planned opening date for the new Leisure Centre is April 2017.
