Christmas in the Forest of Dean gets better every year, with more places to visit locally than ever before such as Beechenhurst lodge and a few others that really get us into the Christmas spirit.
My favourite by far is the Forest of Dean model village just outside Lydney. Its always a great place to visit any time of the year. I paid them a visit today and once again I was blown away with what Jane and her team are doing down there. It's awesome, what with all the decorations, trees, Santa's Grotto, and of course a sprinkling of snow. It just feels so Christmasy (is that a word?).....Anyway I have now decided to pay another visit to this Winter Wonderland in the evening time in order to get the full effect.....oh yes, their lighting is legendary and is a must see.
If you have kids (or even if you don't) Pop down one evening and take a look for yourselves.....its magical!

Well done Jane and the team, your Forest gem keeps getting better
