Does it have to be red roses for Valentines Day?

 
The rose is the most romantic of flowers. Legend has it that the rose was created by the Greek goddess of flowers from the body of a nymph. The goddess of love gave it beauty and other deities provided the scent, nectar,
charm, brightness and joy. Further on in history the rose was to stand for womanly perfection and the mysteries of love. 

 
A red rose symbolizes passionate love hence it's strong connection with Valentine's Day - the Day of Love.
However, if the red rose is not your preferred choice there are other flowers to get across your message.
 
white roses symbolise eternal love
pink roses symbolise perfect happiness
sunflowers symbolise adoration
red tulips are a declaration of love whilst yellow tulips symbolise 'hopelessly in love'  why not go for something different this year?
