A community is not just families and businesses bounded by geographical links but a collective of unique, talented and inspirational individuals who are bonded together by a mutually supportive lifestyle and hobbies, interest, religion or sport.
The picturesque village of Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, is a community steeped in English tradition and rich country heritage. The Gerrards Cross Memorial Centre and lies on the A40 20 miles north west of central London, close to the M25/M40 motorway intersection and with a fast rail connection to London Marylebone provided by Chiltern Railways.
The Gerrards Cross Community Association (GXCA) was formed in 1947 in order to pursue a common goal:
It has done this admirably to date by making available accommodation for clubs and societies, sponsoring new activities and running educational classes in partnership with Buckinghamshire County Council and other adult education providers.
There is definitely something happening for everyone including:

The Colston Hall is a delightful Georgian Grade 2 Listed building offering a superb venue for both civil ceremonies and wedding receptions. With our beautifully refurbished building and delightful grounds we offer an unusual and flexible approach to wedding celebrations. We can offer a full wedding planning service to include food and wine packages and a wedding coordinator but can also allow you to hire the hall and make all the arrangements yourself including bringing in outside caterers and wedding décor specialists.
Clubs:
Camera club, Chess club, Concert goers, Club for Women, Duplicate bridge, Flower club, History society, Horticultural society, Royal British Legion, Short mat bowls and Squash club.
The Association is a charity, financed from subscriptions, rental income and various fund-raising activities run throughout the year, including the February Attic Sale and the famous Gerrards Cross Jumble Sale in September. However more functions and members are needed if GXCA are to continue to be a vibrant hub in the community and to increase their support of YOU and promote growth for the next generation!!!
The main buildings on the site, set in grounds overlooking the Gerrards Cross Common, were erected or purchased and adapted, as living war memorials for those lost in the First and Second World Wars.
The Memorial Centre now accommodates many special interest clubs, and is host to public and private social events and offers a wide range of adult education classes.
Use either of the two large function rooms at GXCA, they can cater for all your event needs not only in stunning surrounds but their hospitality and attention to detail certainly ticks all the boxes:
There is on-site car parking for more than 100 vehicles.
We rely on the income from our regular events to help support our activities. They are also great fun for volunteers helping out and for the people who attend. If you have suggestions for other events or could help by providing time or services, please contact the office.
